Planting design.
Layered borders built for how the garden looks in January as well as June. Right plant, right place — not just what looked good on the day we photographed it.
Work with the soil
you've got.
Most planting fails because it's fighting the site instead of working with it — the wrong plant in the wrong aspect, in soil that was never tested. We start with what's actually there: light, drainage, soil type, what's already surviving. Then we build a plant list around that, not around a mood board that ignores it.
We design for year-round interest — structure and evergreen backbone that carries the border through winter, not just a good six weeks in summer. Every scheme is drawn to scale before a single plant goes in the ground.

How we design a planting scheme.
Site & soil survey
We check light, drainage and soil type properly before suggesting a single plant.
Mood board & plant list
A palette and a shortlist of plants suited to your actual site, not a Pinterest board.
Planting plan drawn to scale
Exact positions and quantities, so the border looks intentional from day one.
Planting day & aftercare notes
Our team plants it, then you get simple notes on watering and what to expect each season.
Low-maintenance
doesn't mean boring.
"Low-maintenance" often gets used as an excuse for a border of the same three shrubs repeated in a line. We do it properly instead — plants chosen to hold their own without constant intervention, but layered for structure, texture and colour that changes through the year.
Seed heads left standing through winter for texture and wildlife, spring bulbs threaded through, summer perennials doing the heavy lifting, evergreens holding the shape when everything else has died back. Less time spent fighting the border, more time looking at it.
